Next is the tranny removal. Start by removing the two bolts holding the clutch slave cylinder and let it hang. Then continue with the remaining seven bolts around the tranny housing, along with two bolts holding the starter near the top. Don't be surprised if it's tough to slide the tranny out

You can drop the tranny and pull the shifter down with it, but MKC finds it easier to disconnect the carrier from the front selector rod. Do this by flipping the clip and removing the pin holding it in place
