Despite its relatively short life, the Audi R8 LMS sports car has established itself as a main contender in international GT sport car racing. To date, it has claimed more than 100 race wins as well as several championship titles during its first three years in motorsport competition.
To celebrate its success, Audi has published the official book devoted to the customer racing program in time for Christmas. It’s snappily entitled "Audi Sport customer racing 2009, 2010, 2011."
In the book, author Thomas Voigt details the development of the GT3 sports cars and the creation of Audi’s customer racing program. It’s all captured on 256 color pages. Several "eyewitnesses" include development driver Frank Biela as well as Romolo Liebchen from Audi Sport customer racing recount their experiences.
More than 700 photographs reveal the colorful world of Audi customer racing - including an overview of every design adorning an Audi R8 LMS in its first three years. The most important racing series and races the Audi R8 LMS competed in are illuminated year by year.
The Audi TT RS is also described in detail. A comprehensive statistic chapter including all the results from 2009, 2010 and 2011 completes the volume created in cooperation with quattro GmbH.
"Audi Sport customer racing" is planned to be published annually after each season, designed to become an essential collector’s item for fans. It continues the series of successful Audi motorsport books.
