VW Scion
I thought I was the only one who "loves VWs but is stuck driving a Scion" until I looked at the screen on my digital camera. Remarkably, I seem to have found another guy in the same predicament who takes this love even further than I do.
While I photochop my apparently blasphemous creations to life, here's an example of a real life conversion - a Scion XB with a wood slat Cal-style roof rack, whitewall tires on VW steel rims and, to top it off, VW logos front and rear. It was even topped off with an Euro license plate for good measure.
While the angry purist in me says, "What the hell is this?" I think I'm going to choose not to be insulted and instead remember that "imitation is the best form of flattery."
I was unable to locate the owner to talk about this faux-Euro but I'll try again when visit a weekly car show in Scottsdale, AZ. I'm curious to discover what drove them to build it.
