Letter Of The Month
Soapbox
Time to get on my soapbox (warning: this could take a while). I'm writing after I picked up the 5/05 issue and was reading through the letters. I also read Behind the Wheel and was surprised to hear how much crap your readers give you. Being as opinionated as I am, I can't just sit back without making my opinions known.
I just want to say I enjoy reading your magazine. The feature cars, the Reader's Rides, the pull-out posters, even the numerous advertisements that make up 90% of the magazine's content (a slight exaggeration). You guys put together a good package. The whiners you incessantly deal with have no right, as far as I'm concerned. I mean, it would be cool to see a few more Mercs, Jags or maybe even Porsches, but there's just not many of them out there. I realize this, but apparently a lot of your readers don't. It seems like in every issue somebody's got a gripe: "Feature more Merkurs," "You guys never show any Peugeots," "How come you never cover Fiats?"... Please! There's more whining from these people than at a freakin' preschool at nap time!
People don't understand it's a world of supply and demand. There are tons of GTIs, Jettas, Golfs, Bimmers and Audis cruising the streets; hence, they make up the majority of your magazine. There just aren't enough modified Saabs cruising the streets to put one in every issue. That's the way it works, folks. No offense to Saab owners. Saab makes a good car and it would be cool to see one featured, but there's just not a good supply. It's not eurotuner's fault. Accept it and please stop whining.
I better stop now before I get a mob of angry Swedes, Limeys and Frogs hunting me down! But I guess what I'm saying is that eurotuner's a great magazine. I enjoy it thoroughly and I don't even own a Euro ('83 T-bird all the way, baby), although I do plan to enter the M3 market over the summer. And when I get that M3, I know eurotuner will be a great source for ideas and insights.
Keep doin' yo thang, eurotuner staff! Don't let the haters, or should I say "whiners," get you down!

Thanks for coming to our defense and stating what others seem to be missing. We do try to feature the unusual and have some interesting cars coming, but you're right - we have to cater to the majority and try to please the minorities along the way. And for being the brightest kid on the block, we decided to make you our Letter of the Month and will be sending you a eurotuner t-shirt. Please let us know what size you want.
Reunion
I've been reading eurotuner for a couple of years and many of the articles have helped me understand more about my car and helped me down the path to achieve my tuning goals. The reason I'm writing, though, is to thank you for the support you've been giving to SGT Brady Cloward (et 5, 6 and 7/05). I'm actually a friend of Brady's and was stationed with him at Fort Drum. I met him through a few "Soldier Dubbers" we knew. Another Dubber and I came back from Afghanistan around the time he was getting ready to leave for Iraq. It was a shame he left so early; we didn't have time to chill because, regardless of his passion for cars, his family always comes first.
Since then, I've left the Army to chase bigger and better things (tropical weather!). But I do miss it - sometimes. And a big reason why is because of guys like Brady, whose positive attitude rubs off on others. Thanks again for supporting a great Dubber, soldier and family man.

I noticed a lot of your feature cars are owned by "students." How do they pay for all these modifications or even the stock car itself? I remember being a student and driving a Plymouth K-car, for God's sake. When these people put student as their occupation, please ask what other activities they're into, or what company their father owns.
