There's one downside to owning a nice car in the wonderful state of Arizona, and it's the heat. Temperatures in Phoenix can reach 120 degrees and you can literally fry an egg on the hood. Owning a high-performance car in the desert and keeping it in prime condition can be a little tricky, not least because the heat can cause engine detonation, especially on a turbo motor. Right away, Joshua installed an electronic boost controller in order to adjust the boost depending on the air temperature, thus reducing the chance of detonation.
At the time, reliable boost controllers were hard to find, so he turned to the HKS EVC Pro. "I had to do a lot of research and cross reference wires with the factory service manual because there were no installation instructions for my particular car," he explained. But having installed the controller, it opened the door for many more mods.
