Import Tuner Car Show - Chinatown Showoff: JDM Vs DTM Car Show

Congratulations to TWCompetition for winning three of the highest awards at the event: Eric Shih's blue widebody M3 (et 4/06) was awarded Best Euro. Robert Wang's crazy GTI (et 10/05) took Best Audi/VW. Lastly, Jeff Nguyen and his M3 (et 1/07) received Best BMW/Mercedes

Almost every metropolitan city has a Chinatown filled with tasty restaurants, small groceries and gift shops. For the past five years, Chinatown Los Angeles has distinguished itself by welcoming the car culture into its Chinese New Year festival. Since '03, Showoff Caf has organized Chinatown Showoff, bringing a large, young audience to the district. Once again, thanks to help from Falken Tires the group successfully filled a lot with fine Euros and clean JDM machines. Although the Best of Show award went to a Supra, we did uncover some interesting Euro projects we look forward to seeing more of in '07.

Carlos Soria and his '02 GTI 1.8T also made the trip from Mexico. The GTI had a massive GT3076R turbo upgrade boosting 24psi. The motor has ABD FMIC, intake manifold, CAI and fuel rail. The exterior featured bser hood, Oettinger aerodynamics, 18" OZ wheels and Brembos	Mean in Bentley green, Nick Riley displayed his '02 GTI 1.8T. It features 19" Ennes wheels, Brembos, FMIC, Wiechers cage, side exhaust, JE Design kevlar roof spoiler and a DTM carbon bser hood. We also liked the camo Bride seat	Ruben Ruiz from Tijuana, Mexico made the trek in his supercharged '98 Jetta VR6. It features burnt orange paint, carbon-overlay bumpers, dash, hood, trim and roof. 17" BBS RS compliment the aggressive look
Nate Leon's '07 Audi A3 2.0T has a Rieger kit with front splitter, Recaro Speed seats, APR software and injectors, JIC suspension, Neuspeed exhaust, Caractere rear spoiler and 19" Work VS-XX wheels	Jose Romo's '06 Audi A3 2.0T features Rieger styling and 19" Work VS-XX wheels, and includes a Neuspeed intake and engine cover	This clean '95 M3 belongs to Mark Fontecha. He currently has coilovers, Borla exhaust and 17" Kosei wheels
